Description

A U Drill (also called as Indexable Drill) is a type of drill used in CNC/VMC machines to drill large diameter holes quickly and efficiently

🛠️ Key Features of U Drills

  1. Insert-Based Tool: Uses indexable carbide inserts at the cutting edge, which can be replaced when worn — no need to sharpen the whole tool.

  2. High Feed and Speed: Designed for high-speed machining and deep hole drilling.

  3. Coolant Through Design: These U drills come with through-coolant holes to improve chip evacuation and tool life.

  4. Rigid Body: Typically solid and made for high-strength applications — minimizes deflection/vibration during drilling and hence are quite accurate.

  5. Double Cutting Edge: Unlike twist drills that cut with a single point, U drills often have two cutting inserts, balancing the cutting force and improving performance.

Each drill requires two inserts; Replace just the inserts instead of the entire tool when the cutting edges wear down

  • Usable in CNC machines with coolant through capabilities for efficient chip evacuation
  • Can be used to drill holes with high accuracy and precision; Suitable for a wide variety of materials, including steel, hardened steel, tool steel, stainless steel, plastic, titanium, aluminum, brass, and bronze.
  • Includes: 10 pieces suitable size inserts with every U drill order, that you will purchase from us.

IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND:-

Please choose L x D of drill size as it can change drilling capacity which is most important part of drilling.

Example of above illustration: What does 2D, 3D, 4D & 5D mean?

Answer: 2 x Diameter (D) will give you the maximum Drill depth you can achieve through  that U drill size, So please chose very carefully from the drop down keeping in mind the Bore diameter, & depth of the drill that you wanted to make with it.
