Use of This Knurling Tool

To create textured patterns (like diamond or straight lines) on cylindrical surfaces.
Mostly used to improve grip on metal handles, knobs, and shafts.
Mounting the Tool: Clamp the square shank of the tool into the lathe tool post. Ensure it's set at the correct height (center height of the workpiece).
Positioning the Workpiece: Load the round workpiece in the chuck of the lathe securely.
Adjusting the Tool: Use the top screw knob to apply even pressure to both knurling wheels. Make sure both wheels align evenly on either side of the workpiece.
Starting the Lathe: Turn on the lathe at low to medium speed. Slowly feed the knurling tool into the rotating workpiece until the knurl wheels start engraving the pattern.
Knurling Process: Maintain consistent pressure and slowly move the tool along the length if required. A clear, criss-cross or straight knurl pattern will begin to form.
Finishing: Stop the machine, retract the tool, and inspect the knurl for sharpness and consistency.
